Excel Tips - Sort Columns (Excel 2007)



We all know how to sort rows, but did you also know that you can sort columns ?

Here's a screen shot of our data in Excel:

And here's what happens when we sort columns:

- NOTE that the columns are now sorted alphabetically.

Here's how

  1. Select your data
  2. From your ribbon, click Data
  3. Select Sort
  4. Choose Options
  5. Select "Left to Right"
    • sort-columns

  6. Choose the row to sort by
