create a selection matrix

Would it be possible to use excel to create a selection matrix?

Say I have 20 machines and each machine has X number of parameters.

Could I create a selection matrix that would indicate which machine could be

used by typing in the parameters?

I think so.. create a matrix

I think so..
create a matrix with the following:

heading 1: Concatentated parameters (=param 1 & param 2 etc..)
heading 2: param 1
heading 3: param 2
etc..
heading n: Machine

- then use vlookup on 'Concatentated parameters' column
